The Simple Gospel

We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.

I saw this truth on Pinterest the other day and thought, MAN! This is the realest thing I have ever read!

A lot of the time our world tends to over complicate the gospel, when really it is quite simple. Our world thinks “how can God say he loves us, when he puts us through terrible things??” “If he is all powerful, why does he LET these terrible things happen” “Since he lets these things happen, there’s no way I can believe in this” “This is too complicated how can I know this is even true”

The truth is—- God is a LOVING God. He puts us through trials and terrible situations to help us grow closer to him. He died on the cross for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US so that we could be made new in HIM! And as children of God, our mission is to strive towards knowing God and making him known! That’s it!

The song “Simple Gospel” fits in perfectly with this message!

One of my favorite lines of the song goes like this:

“I reach out and you find me in the dust, you say no amount of untruths can separate us”

This line gets me every time. It’s that part of a song that gets really emotional and you can just feel God’s presence when you sing it at the top of your lungs- at least I do (;

Anyways- This is so true! We can be so far from God and be in the midst of our worldly issues and God will be there for us the whole time. And when we finally reach out, he pulls us out of that disaster and gives us the realization that we NEED him. He promises to love us through everything and he says that nothing can separate us from his love EVER!

—–Isn’t that so freakin cool! Just think of that for a sec. The God of the universe loves us sooooo much!! and will do anything for us!! including dying for us!!! (oh wait he already did, and would do it over and over for us)
